HIP & GROIN PHYSIOTHERAPY BELMORE

Do you have acute or chronic hip or groin pain? We treat both!

Injuries to the hip and groin can happen during recreational activities (like hiking or sex), sports (especially kicking sports such as soccer or AFL, or activities requiring extreme ranges of motion like rock climbing or ballet), or from falls, workplace accidents, or motor vehicle incidents. The hip and groin region is complex, with multiple layers of muscles and tendons overlaying the ball-and-socket joint, making assessment and treatment challenging. Getting an accurate diagnosis is crucial. Low back or pelvic pain can also refer into the hip and groin, so addressing the root cause is essential for effective recovery.

Every time we walk or run, the hip joint supports our weight while maintaining stability and strength. That’s why a detailed biomechanics assessment is essential. At Narrow Gate Physiotherapy, we regularly use video analysis to identify subtle movement patterns affecting your hip or groin, giving both you and our physiotherapists the insight needed for precise diagnosis and tailored treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have hip pain or groin pain?

Sometimes it can be difficult to know if what you are experiencing is in your groin or in your hip.

The answer is getting it assessed by an expert in both hips and groins. They will also double check to make sure your lower back is not playing a role in your pain presentation.

The Fixio team are extremely competent in dealing with hip and groin pain.

Yes, but we have different experts depending on your needs!

People over the age of 50 should see Jackson or Daniel, both of whom are experts in osteoarthritis and hip pain that seems to have appeared out of nowhere.

People with sporting hip or groin injuries should see Hayden or Jaeme. Both are avid sports people and are experts in treating injuries to this area.

While scans can help provide lots of useful information, more often than not that are not necessary. If you have already had one done, please bring the results along to your appointment. However if you are yet to have one and have been wondering whether you should, please call us beforehand. You will speak to a physiotherapist who will either recommend it is worthwhile or (hopefully) tell you to save yourself some time and money!
